Per the City of Gainesville, Florida's CODE OF ORDINANCES, Chapter 9 ELECTIONS, Sec. 9-11.

Campaign contribution limitations; campaign finance reports.

(a) Candidates shall not accept campaign contributions made by persons or political committees as defined in F.S. 106.011, in an amount exceeding $1000.00 per election, per person or political committee.  For purposes of this section, a run-off election is considered a separate election.  This limitation does not apply to contributions from political parties.

(b) Reports of all contributions received, and all expenditures made by:
     (1) A candidate; or
     (2) A political committee, as that term is defined in F.S. ch. 106, that has made contributions or expenditures to influence the results of a city election, shall be filed monthly once a campaign treasurer is appointed and on the 25th, 11th, and fourth days immediately preceding the regular or special election, and, if a run-off is required, on the 25th, 11th and fourth days immediately preceding the run-off election.

Please Note:
In order to avoid a fine, your report is due by 5:00 PM on the due date, or if mailed, must be postmarked no later than the due date.

Penalty for Late Filing
Per F.S. 106.29(3)(b), “Any county executive committee  failing to file a report on the designated due date shall be subject to a fine of $50 per day for each late day, not to exceed 25 percent of the total receipts or expenditures, whichever is greater, for the period covered by the late report.  However, if an executive committee fails to file a report on the Friday immediately preceding the special election or general election, the fine shall be $500 per day for each day late.”

Electronic Filing
Political Parties will file electronic Campaign Treasurer's Report. A free electronic filing program is provided by the Supervisor of Elections Office. A report is not legally filed until the report is received electronically by the due date.
