Election Time

Polling places are open 7 AM to 7 PM on Election Day, March 15, 2016.

Book Closing

Voters registered in Florida by February 16, 2016 may participate in this election.

Offices Up For Election

If an office is uncontested due to only one candidate qualifying, that race will not appear on the ballot. City of Gainesville candidates for office can be viewed here. In this election, the Democratic and Republican Parties will nominate a candidate for President to run in the General Election.

Absentee Voting

We are currently accepting requests for absentee ballots to be mailed out to voters for this election.Typically, ballots are mailed about 30 days prior to Election Day (ballots to overseas and military voters have an earlier mailing date). The deadline to request that an absentee ballot be mailed for this election is Wednesday, March 9th at 5:00 PM. Visit the Absentee Voting page for more information.

Dates: Friday, March 4 - Saturday, March 12

Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM everyday except Thursday, March 10, which will be from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Precinct Voting

Voting at your polling place on Election Day is easy. Remember to bring picture and signature identification.
